When the warmer weather arrives, people love to get outside and take advantage of long sunny days and temperate evenings. One of the best ways to enjoy the milder temperatures is by grabbing a seat at an outdoor patio or a rooftop restaurant. Kansas City has some fantastic spots that are ideal to take in the warm breezes and enjoy a great meal. Here are a few places worth trying:
Gram and Dun
Located in the Country Club Plaza area, Gram and Dun is a go-to for many locals. Established to create a great “neighborhood vibe,” this eatery has a relaxed and welcoming decor. Rustic wood finishes and comfortable leather seating top it off. In warmer months, diners flock to the spacious outdoor patio. It features a fire pit area and lots of seating under umbrellas. Here, guests can enjoy Gram and Dun’s New American fare with house specialties that include French onion dumplings, cornmeal-fried catfish, and pork porterhouse.
Open since 2017, HopCat is a bustling restaurant in the city’s historic Westport area. They offer over 100 beers on tap. Unsurprisingly, HopCat is known for its great beverage selection in addition to its elevated pub-style menu. A garage door entry opens up to the large rooftop patio where guests can enjoy fabulous views along with customer favorites such as their famed CosmikFries and stuffed burgers.
Finally, combining the perfect combination of views and food, Café Trio is a Kansas City favorite. Taking advantage of its Country Club Plaza setting, this lively eatery opens up to a year-round patio overlooking the J.C. Nichols Memorial Fountain. Live music and Italian-American cuisine set the stage for a relaxing meal. House favorites include veal Ossobuco, dry-aged ribeye, and seafood lasagna.Back to all posts
